Music sets the mood and atmosphere for your wedding day and can provide the special element that makes your day memorable, unique and uplifting. Joanne has sung at various wedding ceremonies, from intimate civil ceremonies to larger church weddings. She has an understanding of the significance of the various parts of the wedding ceremony and can help you to choose songs and music for appropriate places throughout the ceremony. For example, music can be incorporated during the following;

- As the congregation gather
- Bridal entrance
- Psalm (often read)
- Lighting of the marriage candle
- Offertory procession
- Communion
- Sign of peace
- Signing of the register
- As the newly weds leave the church

It is worth noting that if you are having a religious ceremony, it is often expected that hymns will be selected. However this is often relaxed during the signing of the register and for the final song. Generally, it is acceptable for any piece of music to be played (ie. on flute/whistle) during the ceremony. There are no such restrictions for civil ceremonies. There is a selection of hymns, songs, and music in the repertoire section. However I am willing to play any piece of music that is requested.

Joanne is also available to perform with her three (sometimes 4) piece folk/traditional band 'The Dandy Horses.' (other musicians play fiddle, guitar, piano, bouzouki/ mandolin.) The Dandy Horses have played at many weddings. If you are currently considering having enchanting Irish traditional music and song as part of your wedding, please contact Joanne for a tailored quote.

Please note that it may also be appropriate to charge a fee for mileage, depending on the distance involved. This can be discussed prior to booking.
